Little Ol' Me

Trenchcoat going past his knees
Looking down avoiding every eye he sees
The sun is out but to him it's dark
The wheel is turnin' hard
Nothing makes sense when you're stuck in the backyard
Life is no fun
But some people like to speak
Tellin' him that he's a freak
No friends, no job
People call me a slob but I am who I am
You don't know me but I bet you probably see
Your own version of little ol' me
Piercings in every place
Liberty spikes that could be seen from space
The jeans are tight but so is the fist
The revolution is now
He's gonna start it but he doesn't know how
The government is "Killing us all"
But some people like to speak
Tellin' him that he's a freak
No friends, no job
People call me a slob but I am who I am
You don't know me but I bet you probably see
Your own version of little ol' me
Rancid said that you're a time bomb
You got me figured all wrong
Stop pushing on me

Bedtime For Bonnie

An opportunity
A loophole in his interwoven company, which holds to him
It buries him, so he barely gets to see his wife and children
He wants more
Oh, he wants more
Patience is a virtue, but only for the weak, so he grabs the reigns
And pulls the horse down the path he sees
Nothing's gonna be the same again
Strap yourself in cause the life that your living
Is taking you away
And It's never gonna change
Isn't this what you wanted?
Isn't this what you needed?
Isn't this what you came for?
No
A blown safe, an open wound
Can't grab the green poison that kills you
The buzzer's shattering his clenched teeth
And the Blue, it calls him from the street
"Are you ready?"
Were you ever really ready?
Ski partners all dressed in black
Push the door aside and start the rat-a-tat-tat-tat
Nothing's gonna be the same again
Strap yourself in cause the life that your living
Is taking you away
And It's never gonna change
Isn't this what you wanted?
Isn't this what you needed?
Isn't this what you came for?
No
This is what you get
Cause it's all that is left
When you try to shoot the moon with a double-sided deck
And tell me was it worth it?
Was this the answer to your momentary dreams?
A nightmare can become more vivid than you expect
If you let it

Who Needs Velcro Shoes?

Suggestions are falling short of my newly deaf ears
Which are blown, shot, damaged by the yell
Of my future and how it's laying down the bricks that I walk on
And wearing down the past that I've come from
As a kid I was told, I didn't know, how could I know?, and so I fold
I wasted all my chips on a hand for a single card that never did land
It's a slap in the face to know what they had found
Was the very single card that I had held, oh my
This cloud I know won't dissipate
And simple quotes just can't explain
But I wouldn't have it any other way
"For all those years!" Is what he screamed
Weren't half as bad as they seemed
When simple tangents are broken
I won't forget to scream "Take Me!"
Take a teaspoon now and go back in a couple of days
But I'm way too sick for that
My music, my virus, is starting to spread
Up, down, inside-out, write it down from back to front
How could a couple loose sheets, a piece of broken lead, and a little kids head turn into something like this?
I remember running down the street with my shoes untied when a man stopped me
On a knee, he tied my shoes and he said to me;
"Son, you better listen to the rhythm of your heart. For it provides the drumbeat to the melody your life will surely write"
And when it comes for me
I'll scream these words to find within the meaning of this revolutionary time
And together, we'll listen, together

Hand Me Down World

Trip up reality
Defy your salary
Go find calamity and enjoy the view
Find your own sanity
Look into the clarity
Understand humility
It all questions you
And I don't care about the standards we share
And I don't care about society's stare
Yet we question the known
We're rebels, tried and true
Reject conformity
Rise against the tyranny
Seek out the sympathy
Double back to meet your fate
Pick up the dignity
Hold onto humanity
Embrace your destiny
It's almost too late
And I don't care about the standards we share
And I don't care about society's stare
Yet we question the known
We're rebels, tried and true
Pushed to the back of the line
No one cares to listen
No one has the time
Where you back down is where we stand firm
We refuse to accept this hand me down world
Confide in certainty
Deny hypocrisy
Truth is in the T.V.
It'll suck you dry
Look past the imagery
Open up curiosity
Sofapunch the treachery
There's no answer to the question why
Pushed to the back of the line
No one cares to listen
No one has the time
Where you back down is where we stand firm
We refuse to accept this hand me down world

Love Buttons

I gotta date tonight
I'm in love and it feels good
We'll stay in, order some food
Maybe I'll get nude
It doesn't matter
And If I treat her right
I'll turn her on and then she'll glow
I'll push her buttons, then she'll know
She'll put on a show just for me
Parents think I'm crazy
Friends think I'm lazy
But please don't mind the drool
You point and you taunt
Laugh all you want, but I know what I need
Video games you rule my world
Don't want daylight, don't want any girls
Cause all I need is you and me and the T.V. screen
Cause video games, I love you
Oh man this can't be right
You're so quick what can I do
I have one more chance to get to you
So tight will I make it through?
I just don't know
Yeah Menage a Trois!
I'll bring a friend, we'll double team
The enemy on her widescreen
You know what I mean...
(Most Righteous Solo)
I feel so comatose, paralyzed
White-knuckled with blood-shot eyes
I feel so brain-dead
But who needs a brain when you've got video games?

You're sweating, You're dreading, You're living the truth
You're bucket of sanity leaks from abuse
The sweat it drips and all of you starts to doubt
How it could be that in the end you amount to nothing
They say that everything good must come to an end
You're not ready yet, you don't wanna pretend
For anything more than what you need
Fight until the end and all that is seen is nothing
No more morals to compromise
The only one left is your pal .45
And he shows no compassion, no remorse
Quickly he'll take you to somewhere much worse
Somewhere much worse than life
(Can't keep up)
With the path that I'm following
(Can't keep up)
My head which is sinking
(Can't keep up)
This cold war anymore
Listen to me
Cause I have the power now to supersede
Your eyes which are rooted in reality
No sympathy, I understand
But pulling this trigger doesn't make you a man
Lending a hand to a man who has three gives him nothing more than an apology
And that cocky bastard will try to preach to you
That he who has more needs no help from the few
Needs no help from the few
(Can't keep up)
With the path that I'm following
(Can't keep up)
My head which is sinking
(Can't keep up)
This cold war anymore
Cause it's easy, it's easy they all like to say
It's easy, It's easy just give it another day
It's easy, It's easy they all like to say
It's easy, It's easy just give it another day
But enough's enough when the clock says it's up
And thinking about the future has just lost it's touch
And when I'm lying alone I'll ask myself why there was never a moment to
Stop

I don't think I can ever make this right
Can a retired hired gun find peace with what he's done
And live a blue-collared life?
But how can you forget all the places I've been?
And how can you forget all the people I've sinned?
I guess I'm giving up, so wish me good-luck
One more job to prove that I'm done
(Ain't No, Nowhere to go)
The tick-tock of the clock's haunting melody
(Ain't No, Nowhere to go)
Reminds us all of what has passed and what we used to be
What could I say?
Tip your hat to the one who is holding the gun
This constant remorse has now run out its course
Do I have to die just to restart my life?
I don't know
(Ain't No, Nowhere to go)
The tick-tock of the clock's haunting melody
(Ain't No, Nowhere to go)
Reminds us all of what has passed and what we used to be
(Ain't No, Nowhere to go)
The fact that we forget, the fact that's buried
(Ain't No, Nowhere to go)
You're not being chased, you don't have to escape

Lemme catch you up to date about my roomie and the girls who wait
He can't seem to schedule time, cause they have to wait in line
But if you are a lucky one, take off your boots and get ready for fun!
I'll be trying to sleep so keep that in mind when you're on the top bunk
Losing
Your
Mind
I'm gonna try to pick up the pace
A better picture I'll try to paint
Now imagine with me, if you please
A girl every night, but none for me
I know, I know there'll be a guest tonight
I know, I know I'll wake up in a fright
But tell me, tell me where I should go
When the lights go off and the clothes hit the floor?
Mat Sux
With every minute I count each tick
I try to sleep but I get seasick
You can hear it from down the hall
The bed keeps slammin' into the wall
Under the pillow I try to hide
But the moans and groans they get you every time
For the door, I try to run but I slip on the underwear and
That's
No
Fun
You see, I'm not jealous don't get me wrong
I love my roomie, that's why I wrote this song
I'm always happy the sky's are blue....
Who am I kidding?
I f*ckin' hate you

Living on the corner, nothing to wear
Beat up shoes and ratty old hair
I know she ain't got nothing to eat
Every other day she's beggin' for change
An empty shell is all that remains of a beautiful girl
That could've been
Big big dreams aren't big as they seem
They're living their lives by lesser means
But happiness is few and far between the cracks that they have fallen through
Society's complacency and dependency on imagery which rarely ever
Tends to through a bone
To the few who stand alone
They all stand alone
Nothing but a suit, a faceless name
Passing offices all filled with shame
Daydreams are all that's left to him
A patting on the back, a wave goodbye
Nobody said that he didn't try
They can't see they hold the gun
Would you play a game you weren't allowed to win?
One life's all I got
I'll give everything a shot
If I die tomorrow then I'll know
Making ends meet, find the humor in life
Buying odds and ends, working 9 to 5
Time's up, the buzzer's going off
A shapeless night, alone again
A muffled light fills your head my friend
The answer's not found in the remote
Would you play a game you weren't allowed to win?
